Getting to know @KeshiaSih

It has been a strange time for us all recently, so with some of our down time, we reached out to digital creator Keshia Sih-Tseng to get to know her a little more and chat about her Disney Style. She even gave us a few tips. Thanks Keshia!

Couture Kingdom: Keshia, you have definitely made a splash in terms of your Disney Fashion style. Has it become a full-time job for you yet?

Keshia: Thank you so much! Yes it has! I quit my office job back in November and have been pursuing content creating full-time ever since. It’s been a dream come true!

Couture Kingdom:  What surprising lessons have you learned along the way?

Keshia: A few, actually! The biggest and most surprising lesson I’ve learned is being my own boss is not as easy as I thought it would be. Even as an introvert, I miss having coworkers to bounce ideas off of and to talk to throughout the day. Trying to create my own structure has also been a bit difficult but I’ve been working hard to stay motivated and focused throughout this journey.  I’ve also learned that every no is one step closer to a better yes. It’s hard to initially take the rejection, but I know it’s for the better and allows me to get to where I’m meant to be.

Couture Kingdom:  What is your favourite thing about Disney?

Keshia: I love the nostalgia and magic associated with Disney. I grew up on Disney movies and annual Disneyland trips with my family. I have so many wonderful memories and I find it comforting to hold on to them in the midst of navigating life as an adult.

Couture Kingdom:  We have seen you do many Disneybounds. How do you keep your imagination strong? What are you two top tips for creating Disneybound?

Keshia: I love finding inspiration through pop culture as well as the Disney community. Sometimes it’s a color combo that strikes me, and other times it’s the way someone has put an outfit together. My top two tips for creating a Disneybound is to 1) start with a color combo that matches the character you’re Disneybounding as, and 2) find pieces in silhouettes that you enjoy wearing.

Couture Kingdom:  How important is the jewellery in creating your looks?

Keshia: I’ve only recently started wearing more jewelry and incorporating them into my Disneybounds, and I think accessories can help add a little extra “oomph” to my outfits! Recently, I put together a Genie look, and adding a magic lamp necklace completed the outfit and made it more noticeable as to who I was Disneybounding as.

Couture Kingdom:  All Disney characters have their own kind of magic in them and we know that you love Mulan. What is it about Mulan the film or character that has you drawn to it?

Keshia: I love Mulan for many reasons. On a personal level, she reminds me a lot of myself. Growing up, I didn’t get to see many Chinese female leads in TV or movies, so watching Mulan as a kid was one of the first times I was able to relate to someone I saw in the media. I also admire how selfless and courageous she was by taking the place of her father to not only serve her country but to save all of China as well. I think she’s a wonderful role model and she taught me that one person can be enough to make a difference.

Couture Kingdom:  How would you describe the new Couture Kingdom Mulan collection and which is your favourite piece?

Keshia: The new Couture Kingdom Mulan collection is absolutely stunning! I think it’s very regal and it’s so hard to pick a favorite piece in the collection. But if I have to choose one, I love the Mulan Comb Stud Earrings. They’re so dainty and such a cute touch to any Mulan inspired outfit!

Couture Kingdom: What’s next for you?

Keshia: I’m not sure what’s next for me, but I’m ready to take on whatever life throws at me! It’s been so much fun getting to create content and write blog posts about my outfits and travel adventures. Hopefully an international trip will be in our future!
